I’ve been waiting for this for a while and I’m glad to say it’s finally here. Clusta has a massive update of work and a total site overhaul. Not only is the work amazing, the site has been simplified to make for easier navigation and elegant viewing. I’m glad they have kept some of the jazzy flash they do so well that was present on the old site. This time it’s a much more refined affair with wonderful fading tiles and a rather snazzy opening logo. Nice one Clusta!

I was fortunate enough to make the opening of the final year HND students at Matthew Boulton College’s FEED NOISE show last week. I have to say the standard of work was beyond many degree shows I’ve been to. Most of he work had some great ideas behind them and the level of finish on all the work was immaculate. FEED really has set the bar high for design education in Birmingham, not only in work ethic but also working environment.

Pure typographic goodness from Julien De Repentigny. Look through his whole portfolio, if you like words it’s sure to bring a smile.

A bit late off the mark with this one, but former Love creative Adam Rix’s work makes me tingle inside, so I just had to post.

Ryan Killeen’s amazing Art for Autism project is currently on hold due to the funding being pulled. It’s a great book with contributions from the likes of Ian Anderson, Jon Burgerman, Jon Slade & Gemma Correll, so if you know of anyone that might be able to help please pass the message on.

It’s been a bit quiet around here as of late. Lots of projects looming over my head mean not a lot of time to post. If you’ve mailed your work over and I haven’t responded I apologize. I’ll be updating the site and getting back up to speed over the next week. In the meantime check the work of Anna Filipova. I’m a big fan of information graphics, so these few numbers from the 3rd year Central Saint Martins College of Art & Design student really hit the spot.

After receiving an email from my local print studio I thought I’d scour the mailing list to see if I recognized any other members. Although I didn’t find anyone I knew, I found the very comical work of Walter Newton. Maybe I might see him around!

I was browsing Design Sponge and their regular “Sneek Peek” posts when I came across the work of Office. Their work is really fun and I was glad to finally put a name to the quirky and bright Fanta adverts that have been making me smile on the way to work every day.

What kind of work really goes into a typeface? In the digital age the old craft seems more distant away than ever. Pencil, ruler, French curve, rapidograph, x-acto knife; hear about the creation of Kandal over at LetterCult.

Arizona based Jeffrey McKee has a really understated and fun portfolio of work.

I’ve been enjoying lots of maotion work recently. Not the über realistic Pixar style stuff, more along the lines of moving type and geometic shapes. The portfolio & virtual playground of Jorinna Scherle,a Berlin-based designer & digital artist is really ticking all my boxes.

After posting the trainer templates I thought I’d follow it up with this nice collection of t-shirt/hoodie templates I found over at Blog.Spoon. You never know when you might want to put your latest piece of type or illustration onto a cotton garment!
