I’m really enjoying the output of this chap lately. A recent graduate of Brighton University he seems to transform objects into wonderful forms of type. He has a real humanistic quality to his work that I just can’t get enough of. A member or the Evening Tweed Collective (more on those soon) he will be in New York as of September for 3 months to do an internship with illustrator Mario Hugo. He’s looking to do collaborations during his stay, so if you are around drop him a mail.

Found this picture over at September Industry. It’s a presentation piece to be awarded to the former president of Sony. Done in classic Build montage style, it’s screen printed plexiglass. NICE.

This is a picture of the new Microsoft wireless mouse. At first glance it’s rather aesthetically pleasing on the old face peepers. I like the black colour. So far so good? Why on earth does the silly thing fold? It’s supposedly for transportation reasons, but when was the last time you had a laptop bag that couldn’t accomodate a small mouse in? Maybe it’s for the generation of skinny jean wearers that simply have to have their mouse on them at all times to update their facesmooch, but cant fit a normal one inside their pockets?
Secondly is its profile. For the first time in ages I used a colleagues PC the other day, and what I found very hard to adjust to was the angle of my hand to my wrist, in order to accomodate for the height of the mouse. You know those silly pads people sometimes need to stop them from getting RSI? Yes those ridiculous jelly ones that either have the feel of a rubber sex toy or a breast implant. Surely you would need one of those with the height of this mouse? Compare the profile of this mouse to Apples mighty mouse and you get an idea of why Apple users tend not to have those silly pads.
I’ll hold back on any more criticisms until I actually feel one of these things, but until then I think it’s another Microsoft Zune trying to be an Ipod.
Thanks Hugh!

I saw this advert on a billboard recently and I have been trying to track down a copy on the internet for a few weeks. I finally found a copy in the newspaper a couple of days ago. A different approach to laying down a strapline. Nice inventive use of type.

The instillations of Lori Hersberger look like tangible graphic design. His work reminds me of something reminiscent of a record sleeve. I love his fantastic compositions and his amazing use of colourful light.

I’m in love with the work of Josef Schulz. It’s a combination of the harsh, rigid lines and the spots of bright colours that does it for me. Le Corbusier meets Ikea. Great!

Michel de Broins‘ pieces, mostly on the theme of space are really exciting. I love this piece especially. It’s titled “Black Hole”. Go check out his site, there is loads more stuff on there.

Came accross the work of Leandro Feuz today. His animations are rather special. Check out His experimental works. Really strong and fluid.

I’m not the biggest fan of betting shops or gambling establishments, but looking at this new sign I saw being put up yesterday made me squirm! Firstly it looks awful. Secondly it seems to be selling gambling as some sort of “BETTER” way for living. AWFUL! AWFUL! AWFUL! (end of rant).

Ran across this screensaver from Pixelbreaker about 3 months ago and I have not changed it from my machine once. It’s a beautiful graphical representation on time.

Some vector patterns that can be tiled. Inspired by maths and grids. Useful for backgrounds and maths based fun. I’ll be posting more up when I have a bit more time. Enjoy! Download the Illustrator files HERE

This fabulous desk was bought to my attention today. Its called MILK! Why? Who knows, but what i do know is that I adore it. Its modular design allows for you to add bins and other fun treats to the desk such as a fish tank. I wouldn’t mind sipping my coffee behind this bad boy every day. They also have a very slick website.
Thanks Lou!

I’m loving these Timecode T-shirts by Build available at Blanka. Out of the seven or so songs at least four are my favorite ever! It seems a certain Michael.C.Place has excellent musical taste! Buy one for a limited time and get a random t-shirt from the series for free!

Found this great online PDF magazine via The Cap’M today. Artists and designers are given a stimulus and they produce a quarterly PDF of the work. Some great back issues available to download on the site.

When I saw the work of street artist Kenji Hiata, it instantly reminded me of an urban 8vo. His splashes of symmetrical colour make my minimal heart all warm and fuzzy. I especially love his canvases and the way he displays his work to give it real depth. Go check out his site.
