I recently reported that Blanka were re-printing Wim Crouwel’s Vormgevers. Well, today CR Blog has a piece on just how painstaking the re-production was. It isn’t simply a digital reproduction of the original. All the tiny imperfections, the subtleness of colour and paper are all nearly the same as the original.
Funnily enough the paper they chose is either Arjo Wiggins Keaycolour or pop’set white. I recently got a few samples of the black Keaycolour and Pop’set stock for my Work Sleep Play F$%@ poster and they are fantastic. The Pop’set range is wonderfully smooth and has real character and presence. It also catches the light very nicely for an uncoated stock.
