As a designer the work of TDR influenced my early career substantially. I still sometimes look to their work as a source of inspiration. That’s why this film has gotten me rather excited. “From Punk to Pop, the Designers Republic”"‘ (tDR”"‘) changed the established rules of design, creating some of the most iconic and recognisable logos,...
Magnetic putty is just like any other putty in that you can handle it, sculpt it, and squeeze it. Place it anywhere near a magnetic source and the putty animates to consume whatever the magnetic source might be.
Studio Hansa got in touch to tell me about a few projects they have completed recently. They undertook a total strategic rebranding of their Chellozone’s portfolio of TV channels across EMEA. The work took the essence of the colour-based theme of the previous identity but moved it on, showing views into fantastic worlds contained in...

If you didn’t know already Glug have a stack of amazing videos from their events. There are videos from the likes of Give Up Art, Tom Darracott and Studio Output but my absolute favourite video, and one that’s bound to put a huge smile on your face is the Mr Bingo talk below.
Zeitguised have created these “Strugglers” for MTV. They are robots/creatures that move in a very awkward way. I really like the mechanics involved in this project.
After seeing a great talk by Johnny Hardstaff at FEED a few months ago I was excited to see he has directed a new trailer starring Michael Fassbender, promoting the upcoming Ridley Scott movie Prometheus. It doesn’t disappoint!
Bit late off the mark for this one but the mighty This Is studio have a showreel showing off some of their tasty work. Love the song as well. Anyone know what it is?
I’ve posted about Christopher Cox before. It seems he has a new studio with a strong emphasis on motion work. Showreel – Fall 2011 from Changethethought on Vimeo.
Loving this Canal + ident. Simple geometry meets some slick motion graphics.
Lovley little animation by John Kelly commissioned by Chipotle Mexican Grill. There is also a cheeky behind the scenes of film which you can watch here.
Some nice work in the portfolio of recent FEED HND graduate Pica. Some great animation skills on show.
Ryan Atkinsons work has a great balance between typography and a motion work. I particularly like his MTV pitch. Boy got skillz.
Just stumbled accross the work of the Liverpool studio Uniform. Their print work is top notch but its the video on the homepage and showreel that gets it really going.
Yes Please! Go check out the amazing motion work of Beautiful TV. They have a really varied mix of projects. I’m particularly in love with this piece, the music is awesome!
Seriously sexy time motion work from Onur Senturk. Via Changethethought TRI▲NGLE from Onur Senturk on Vimeo.
Bionic Systems are an amazing multi-disciplinary studio based in Düsseldorf, Germany. To say their portfolio is vast is an understatement. It will take you a while to look around but it’s well worth it.
Anyone else think the Old Spice advert by W+K is rather funny? It was all done in one take and took over 50 attempts to shoot it.
I’ve been enjoying lots of maotion work recently. Not the über realistic Pixar style stuff, more along the lines of moving type and geometic shapes. The portfolio & virtual playground of Jorinna Scherle,a Berlin-based designer & digital artist is really ticking all my boxes.
Lisbon based Alva have an very colourful body of multidisciplinary work. They have a pretty sweet looking site as well.
If you enjoyed Spike Jonze’s Invisible skateboard video video then his new video for UNKLE track “Heaven” will be right up your street. Jonze always brings a playful over the top aesthetic to lots of his work that is most definitely prevalent in this promo. Slow motion skateboarding with tons of explosions, good times!
